Twitter - Protocol

Content of Tweets

The Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) Twitter account is used to advise users of new material posted to the PMPRB website. Tweets should not be considered as the authoritative source of new policy or guidance from the PMPRB. If you follow us, you can expect content covering some or all of the following:

  • Announcements of Voluntary Compliance Undertakings, Board Decisions and Orders
  • Notices of new publications including the NEWSletter and analytical studies
  • Notices of consultations
  • Conference presentations, speeches, news releases and other communication activities
  • Notices of any changes to the website
  • Other PMPRB updates including changes to policies, guidelines, services and initiatives
  • Re-tweets of information of value to PMPRB Twitter followers

Retweets

From time to time the PMPRB may retweet information that is of value to our Twitter followers. We may retweet news, links and other information that is relevant to the PMPRB's mandate.

These retweets are for convenience and information only. The PMPRB's decision to retweet does not imply endorsement on the part of the PMPRB and should not be taken as an explicit indication of any position or argument that may vary from the current official position, nor should it be taken as an indication of a possible shift in the PMPRB's current official position.

Following

The PMPRB follows Government of Canada institutions and other organizations that we believe are relevant to the mandate of our work. This may include following Twitter accounts of non-profit organizations, patient advocacy associations, provincial and municipal governmental agencies, and companies and other commercial enterprises (and/or their employees) who comment on issues relating to patented medicines.

PMPRB's decision to follow a particular Twitter account does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Followers

Similarly, the appearance of a Twitter user as a follower of the PMPRB account does not imply endorsement. The PMPRB will only take steps to remove or block a follower if that follower does not abide by Twitter's terms of service.

Official Languages

Tweets will be posted simultaneously, but separately, in both official languages. If a tweet is meant to highlight a link to content found on the website, the language of the link will correspond to the language of the tweet.

A retweet will be delivered in the language of the original author with a translation provided if necessary.
