• Voluntary Programme

• Initiated end-1999

• Enrollment – over 800 authorised physicians

• Includes 50% of high volume prescribers

• Core elements:

  • Data sharing to assist cost-effective prescribing
    • Relative Drug Costs
    • Patient Data
  • Compensation based on savings and improved outcomes
    • share 40% savings generated by enrolled prescribers
    • Some physicians had ethical reservations for accepting money related to savings on their prescribing
