Canadian Common Drug Review Process (1)

• Sept 2002 – Ministers agreed to a permanent common review process for assessing new drugs to:

  • reduce duplication of effort
  • allow plans to focus on most beneficial drugs

• housed at CCOHTA

• consultations with industry in Nov 2002

• drug reviews to begin in early 2003
