Making economic evaluations more useful

• Follow economic guidelines:

  • 1998 in BC – only 5 of 21 submissions complied with guidelines
  • CCOHTA Guidelines (update in 2003)
  • ……but it will not eliminate bias
    

• More independent evaluations by 3rd parties (CCOHTA)

• More collaboration among HTA agencies

• Etc…….
